Spring Things

I hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break. It doesn’t feel very spring-like today but it is suppose to warm up and then there will be puddles and mud to play in. Yeah!

I will not be at school the four day week following the break. Mrs. Preece will be here in my place and will be carrying on with learning as usual, as well as a few Easter activities.

I am requesting that each student bring in three hard cooked eggs for Wednesday morning as we plan to dye them. The eggs will go home on Thursday but will not have been refrigerated.(FYI)

There will be no spelling during this week.

On Wednesday morning, April 11^th, about 8:40, we will be presenting at the assembly with our Grade Three Buddy Class. The students will be performing a song in sign language. They have done an amazing job of learning the signs and I think they are marvelous; worth coming to see.

Student Led Conferences will be held the following Wednesday, April 18^th. Please plan to spend about 30 minutes at school with your child that evening. You may come anytime between 3:30 and 7:00 pm. I will

be in the classroom until 7:30 pm. I am not scheduling specific time blocks for these conferences. If you would like to schedule a private interview time please let me know the week of March 10^th and I will be happy to make arrangements.

We have an afternoon trip planned for Wednesday, March 18^th to Golden Greenhouse. Parents are welcome to join us at no cost. A letter regarding this trip will come home after Spring Break.

We have some wonderful paper mache Seuss Critters waiting to be adopted; one for each loving family in 1T. We would like them to find their way to your home before Spring Break. You can pick up your critter, or make arrangements to have it picked up, anytime today or tomorrow.

Sharing Journals

I intended to send Sharing Journals home with students on Friday but obviously did not.  I will send them home Monday and if your child can have their first entry done for any day during the week it would be appreciated. I wanted each student to have one entry done before the break. The schedule for sharing will commence after Spring Break. I will do an exemplar with students on Monday so hopefully they will have a good idea of what to do. Please help with punctuation as this has not been a focus in our writing and the Sharing Journal is a great opportunity to do so. I am looking forward to hearing the entries!
