HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

1T had a Spooktacular Party!  Thank you to the parents who provided the snack.  As you can see, it was wonderful!  Thanks also to parents who came in to carve pumpkins and Ms Rowland for roasting the pumpkin seeds.  We did not get Home Reading chosen today or the Weekend Problem, but students do have a new set of Key Words to add to their ring. These words need to be practiced daily until your child can read them by sight.  Thank you Mrs. Ott and Mrs. Sparrow for cutting and hole punching these keys.  I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend.  I'm looking forward to PD tomorrow as I will be learning more about using our new Chromebooks.

Aladdan

Our trip to see the musical, Aladdan, was great!  The show was wonderful and included some interesting variations to the original story.  Ask your child about what happened at the end with Prince Aladdan and the Princess.
In Aladdan's tent.

The bus ride home.

Sharing Spooky Stories

1T students enjoyed sharing their 'Haunted House' books with Kindergarten classes.  What do you think you would see in a Haunted House?

Next Week

A few things about our short but busy week:
There will be no spelling sent home.
Monday and Tuesday 1T students will be reading 'Haunted House' books they made to Kindergarten classes.
We are going to see Aladdin on Tuesday morning.
Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 we will be carving pumpkins. I have one parent coming in to help but would appreciate one or two more.  If you can help please let me know ahead of time.
Thursday afternoon will be our HALLOWEEN PARTY.  We will start the afternoon with the traditional Parade in the gymnasium and return to our classroom for a few games and snacks.  Party food has been arranged; Ms. Ellis (drink), Ms. Legault (sweet treat) and Mrs. Toogood (nutritious snack).  I appreciate you not sending in extra food as it ends up going to waste.

NO School on Friday. PD for teachers.
