Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

Love the Buddy Reading!

Really Keen on Plasticine!

Today we started a plasticine art project.  It is a wonderful medium for children to work with! Our inspiration came from author and artist Barbara Reid.  We have enjoyed many of her books, especially Subway Mouse.  Today we did the background sky.

Bye, bye chickies.

Today was the last day with our feathered friends. They were 9 days old today and my did we see growth! Their new digs are a farm north of Devon where they will join fellow chickens and enjoy scratching in the barnyard when the weather warms up.

These chicks are so tame they fall asleep in the students gentle hands.

Golden Greenhouse

Thank you Ms. Sloan and Mrs.Kucmus for helping us with this trip. I know it's a busy one but a good experience to see what goes on behind the scenes in a Greenhouse. I hope the plants and Easter baskets made it home safely.

Easter Crafts

Thanks to Mrs. Hugh and Mrs. Rowland for making Easter Baskets with students.  They sure turned out great! Students will bring them home on Thursday with their plants from Golden Greenhouse. Please note that the Easter Card required some fancy folding for the pop out beak, an objective in our Science Building Topic. Thanks Mr. Abtosoway for helping with these.

Spring Brings New Life

An amazing day of learning in 1T.  Students were able to watch chicks hatch out.  There were many thoughtful questions and lively discussions as students grappled with new vocabulary, ideas and the excitement of what they observed.
