Writing

Please note that there are no new Spelling Words this week.
Your child is on the hunt for new ideas for writing.  Will you help your child select an object that will be a starting point for a piece of writing?

This object should
      -  be personally meaningful to your child.
      -  have a story behind it (perhaps how your child  got it and why it is special).
      -  be of little monetary value (in case it gets lost).
      -  be easy to carry.

The object could be a refrigerator magnet from a special vacation, a rock from the front yard where your child learned to ride a bike or shoot baskets, a ticket stub from a favorite concert or a sporting event, a picture of someone or something important, a card or letter from a special person, or a CD with a song that brings back a significant memory.  We're going to be writing stories about why these objects are special.  The object will be returned to you by the end of the week.

Thanks for your help.  I look forward to sharing your child's writing with you once the project is complete.
