Our first week of 2012 was awesome! Students embraced the Dr. Suess Theme with interest and enthusiasm. Many of Dr. Suess' books are excellent for beginning readers as the vocabulary is right in line for mid-grade one reading. If you have any on the shelf at home, now would be a great time to re-read them. Each student has written a descriptive story about a "Who" they created on the computer. These will be on display outside our classroom. We also created some Suess Critters using a variety of materials and warm melt glue guns. Yes, your little ones can handle this and did so responsibly! I was also very proud of the way everyone worked cooperatively and pitched in to tidy up the classroom before home time. These marvelous creations (the critters) will be on display in the display case outside our classroom as well.
